The six candidates seeking the three county supervisor seats up for election in November will take part in a candidates’ forum on Monday, Oct 17, in the Greene Room at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson.
The forum will begin at 7 pm. It is co-sponsored by Greene County Farm Bureau and Greene County Development Corporation (GCDC). The format will offer voters who are present an opportunity to ask questions of the candidates.
The supervisor candidates are as follows: District One, incumbent Republican Mick Burkett and Democratic challenger Alan Robinson; District Four, incumbent Republican John Muir and Democratic challenger Todd Madson; District Five, unaffiliated incumbent Guy Richardson and Republican challenger Peter Bardole.
Voting for supervisors in Greene County is at large: that is, each voter can vote for a candidate from each district. However, there is a residency requirement for candidates: each district candidate must reside in his or her own district.
The forum is the only such event to date to be scheduled in Greene County.
General election day is Tuesday, Nov. 8. Early voting is now underway.
